| P-094 - 1905 Contessa's Crystal Gown This shimmering masterpiece is made almost entirely of silver lined crystal glass beads held together by delicate crochet stitches. The combination of textures, bead styles and colors looks so authentically old that your creation will look like an antique heirloom. The skirt is created from thousands of large easy to see, and easy to handle, bugle beads. The beads form shimmering glass bands both inside and out this reversible piece. The beads are first strung on crochet thread and then crocheted right into the piece. The bodice is created from the same crystal bugle beads trimmed with 2 types of rocaille beads at the bust. The sleeves are multilayered with broad cuffs of extra long bugle beads that are repeated in the trim at the waist. Classic 1905 beaded swags are draped across the upper arms and shoulders with strands of beads elegantly festooned over the intricate layers of beading. The evening purse is created from matching bands of bugle beads with plated metallic rocaille beads for the fringe. Adorable silver filigree charms are used for the handles.
